Yay! Finally, something completed! lol …. Our band (me, Jackson and Isaac) is called Red Sky Sailor … the album called “The Drifter’s Legacy”.

This project began about one year ago after we all went to see The Book Of Eli movie … our kinda flick….
Isaac got the idea for a concept type album and Jackson had a few musical doodlings on his Macbook and we began a process where Jackson would cook up some riffs and/or an instrumental … then I would take it and work out lyrics and melody on my drive in to work .. and then we got Isaac to put some of his unique guitar-isms here and there … and voi la ….
I feel we were successful in maintaining a consistent mood and audio/visual imagery throughout … brooding, pot-apocalyptic … but with hope and heart … may be prophetic in places … the whole thing felt inspired to us … .
We had the catastrophe several months ago nearing completion when all of the basic tracks mysteriously vanished of Jack’s computer…. We had some rough stereo mixes of everything though and kind of rebuilt it from there…
I finished the last of the vocals over the Christmas holiday when we were all around the house… dashing off between all the falderal with Jack to his room to bang a few tracks or do some editing…
There is a guest appearance by my buddy Jerod playing guitar and piano on “Warm Embrace” and also the “Mad Hatter” sings b.g. vocals on that song (Jack’s old flame) … .
As seems to usual with most my stuff there are inadequacies in quality of recording regarding my vocals… Some day.. we will have to get that nailed … In this case… most of it was simply sung in Jacks room, or in the basement… one time in the garage … singing into the room just using the little condenser mic built into the Mac laptop …. not exactly a high fidelity method, lol … but it was all we could do considering time and resource constraints … .
We were going to use the name Red Sky Morning … but that was taken by some reggae band in Jersey …. I like RSS better anyhow… the idea being …. taken from the old saying, “red skies at night, sailor’s delight; red sky morning, sailor’s warning” … . The “drifter” in this case … being one who sails the red skies, whether they be of good portent or portents of doom … .
Jack drew the very cool cover art … It is actually a painting over the top of a photo he took of Sky atop American Towers … a ritzy condo high rise in downtown …. They were at a seminar wrap up party when Jackson took an acting course over the summer … .
So … anyway… yeah.. here it is … I am eager to get the lyrics up .. will probably post them here as well—some may find them interesting … like I say… they all felt inspired and timely, addressing various issues of the moment and some on the horizon … .. .

Glory and peace and worship of His name and station … . Om Namah Yeshu; Om Namah Mashiah … … … .

p.s. DL artist note: Jackson created that photo of L.A. …. for the album …. using a base photo of the city of angels … then messing with it on his Macbook …. THOUGH…. he did not intentionally create what I noticed straightaway… what looks to be a devil motif in the clouds center left ….. He did not set out to put that there… He didn’t know it was there…. I saw it right away … and it reminded me of that devil face that purportedly showed up in the smoke above 9/11 …….. Hmmmm ….. along with some of the (I expect) prophetic/predictive incidents of the album material…. this may be another sign ….. of the veracity to manifest ….. I have more to say on this whole angle … and will get to asap ……
